There are cycling routes for all abilities near Little Pengelly. We have a secure shed where you may store your bike and there is a hose outside for mountain bikers. You may hire road and mountain bikes at Porthleven, bikes can be delivered to you, if you wish (www.porthlevencyclehire.co.uk)
Little Pengelly acts as a stage for local road cycling events there are; quiet country lanes, rides along the sea front at Penzance or off-roading over the moors and numerous bridleways.
If you wish to cycle off road with your family you may hire bikes in Porthleven and enjoy the National Trust Trail at Penrose. The trail is suitable for the youngest riders but those who like a challenge can enjoy the extra loops around the farm land and Loe Pool.
Cycle route St Michael’s Mount to Mousehole
This is off road along the sea front. See the ancient castle and enjoy a delicious lunch in the pretty harbour of Mousehole.
St Michael’s Way
Used by ancient pilgrims wishing to avoid the perils of the sea this trail stretches from Lelant near St Ives to Marazion and St Michaels Mount. Thirteen miles, off road.
The First and Last Trail
This trail follows the coastline from Land’s End, through the ancient landscape of West Penwith. It is twenty five miles. Road and off road .
Mineral Tramways Route Devoran to Porthtreath (coast to coast)
Mainly off road riding which follows an old railway route. See the old Cornish Mine buildings. Twenty two mile round trip. You may hire bikes at Devoran and on the trail.
Camel Trail cycle route
Follow the beautiful Camel estuary from Wadebridge to Padstow (do it this way and enjoy lunch at Rick Stein’s café) an old railway route offering easy cycling for all of the family. You may hire bikes at the start of the trail in both towns.
